The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is the premier destination — home to 200+ pandas. Visit in the morning (8-10am) when pandas are most active. For a deeper experience, the Dujiangyan Panda Base offers volunteer programs.
Is Sichuan food really that spicy?
Not all Sichuan dishes are fiery! While hotpot and mapo tofu pack heat, many classic dishes like Kung Pao Chicken are mildly spiced. We can always request 'less spicy' (weilaa) or 'not spicy' (bula). Food tours include both signature spicy dishes and milder local specialties.
